Reply with quote | #46 | It's too bad the Angels couldn't have made the Yankees use Sabathia in a Game 7. That may have sunk the Phils chances at repeating. __________________ - Michael

Reply with quote | #48 | I do feel much more confident with CC available for 1, 4, and 7 than if he'd been limited to 2 starts. Between AJ and Andy, I think they can get at least 1 win. __________________ Let me explain. No, there is no time. Let me sum up. |

So, you are assuming that CC's going to win all 3 starts??? You must not have watched the Phils tear up Sabathia in the Divisional Series last year...

CC was out of gas by the time of the LDS last year. He's much better rested this year. He certainly pitched much better against the Twins and Angels this year than he did against the Phillies last year. There's also the fact that the Yankees have a pretty good track record against Cliff Lee. On that note, any word from Manuel whether he plans to try to pitch Lee in 3 games? __________________ Let me explain. No, there is no time. Let me sum up. |

Reply with quote | #51 | Not so sure they'll go the 1, 4, 7 route with Sabathia. For starters, there aren't the extra "off" days so who would they use for Game 5? Sure wouldn't be Burnett, with Pettite starting Game 6 on short rest.
If the Yankees go with Sabathia 1 & 5, they'd have Burnett for 2 & 6 (both home starts for him) and Pettite for 3 & 7. Not sure who they'd use to start 4, though. Would they dare start Chamberlain?
