Now is the time to predict who you think will be going to the World Series.  I know Fox is hoping it's the Yankees and Dodgers-- top media markets, storied franchises, and lots of fans (and non-fans, especially in the case of the Yankees ) all over the country.  But what do the folks here on the Belfry think?

I'll post my predictions later.

Meg

I'm actually pretty excited to see the rematch of the Dodgers - Phillies...this time with George Sherrill!

I'll root for a rematch of the 1950 World Series - Phillies vs Yankees...just with better results.

I predict Dodgers and The Evil Empire and Joe Torre will get revenge.

As I said, throwing up my hands:
Quote:
Just to save time, I'll now pick the Angels over the Dodgers in the World Series, USC football, UCLA basketball, the Lakers, the Kings, and Pepperdine volleyball.

And to clarify, I'm only picking Pepperdine for men's volleyball; I'm going to be a homer and pick the Huskies to win the women's title...

That blows your municipal dominance all to hell.  Why not support the Loyola Marymount women's volleyball team?  Or Cal State Northridge?

I'm going to go with the Angels and Phillies in the WS.  There ought to be two good championship series.

Unfortunately, I've got to go with Fox's desires.

I think it'll be Yankee$ and Dodgers.

I'm rooting for a good weather World Series, LAA vs. LAD.

 (ending November 5)

Much as I would love to see a NYY collapse, it doesn't look likely right now.  The Angels are very good, but its feeling like the Yanks have the "mojo" this year.  So I reluctantly choose the Evil Empire to win the ALCS.

The Phillies are determined to defend but again it feels to me that Torre will somehow figure out a way for the Dodgers to win the NLCS.

Yankees vs Dodgers in the World Series.

Speaking of which, what's gotten into them, anyway?  I don't really follow football, but I like texting my friends about how hapless they are.  But that's been hard to do of late.  Maybe I should just try to make some friends who are cougars.

You're too old to be hanging around with cougars, and Mitzi wouldn't approve anyway.

Oh, wait, you meant Wazzu grads, didn't you?
