I counted 15 high schoolers and 7 middle infielders.  Good thing we have all those middle infield prospects.  And 6 of the top 19 were southpaws.  Returning to our old ways, perhaps?

I'm not sure which of these guys fell due to signability but I hope a number of them were.

Keep your eyes on 8, 13, 14, 18, and 19. Signability, or whatever you want to call it--all high school guys, all with talent in different stages of development, expected to go to college. 8 was injured earlier in the year or probably would have gone higher. 14 is supposed to go to Maryland.

If they drafted them that high, it seems as if it might be part of a plan and they are going to make a serious run for all of them.

Here's an article on 19.

Aren't we back to seven minor league teams, with one at the Gulf Coast again? If they have a new overall strategy to spend money on high school kids and set up a sort of a baseball academy approach with the two rookie league teams and Aberdeen, that might work. I'm interested to see what happens.

Zagone(6), Gurka(15), and Durakis(37) are now on Aberdeen's roster.
Gamboa(21), Kantakevich(22), Barajas(26), Sexton(31), Keating(34), Eastham(36), Phelps(38), Phillips(42), Conley(17), Welty(20), Britton(35), and West(39) are on Bluefield's. (Has any team drafted more players named Britton than the O's?)
The GCL O's roster hasn't had any draftees added yet (their first game is Thursday).

Billy Rowell is the only teenager on Frederick's roster. Or Delmarva's, Aberdeen's or Bluefield's...

Thanks for the list - I didn't think to check the farm rosters.   I've used your input to update the above list.

I also got my Google News Alert set up - apparently the Web Proxy at work was interfering with the addition of the alert.

Nice work!

I think I've read that #25, the catcher Xavy Lopez, also has signed.

The GCL O's roster is now updated, but the only draftees on it are Avery and Hoes.

Jose Kianes, a high school player drafted in round 43 in 2006, is also there.

How's that for Internet dingleberry picking one-upmanship!

He was hurt at the time and the O's signed him anyway with the idea of waiting for him to recover. Looks like it took a while.

O'Shea and Drake have signed. O'Shea has played, but I don't think Drake has yet.

Why haven't they gotten Matusz signed yet?  They need to get him signed in a hurry.

They have until 8/15.    From all that I have read, they are not that far apart.
